A key link in our ecosystem
In recent years, the bee population has been declining sharply. This phenomenon is called "Colony Collapse Syndrome": suddenly the hives are emptying without any corpses being found nearby. It is probably caused by a combination of factors: changes in the landscape and scarcity of resources, climatic disturbances, and a dangerous cocktail of pesticides.
The disappearance of the bee would have serious environmental and economic consequences: 80% of crops depend on the action of these pollinating insects.
Breteuil sponsors beehives in France
Companies have a big responsibility to the planet. At Breteuil, we take our impact very seriously and work every day to protect it. We support the charity Un Toit pour les Abeilles (Homes for Bees) and sponsor dozens of beehives.
In this way, we participate in safeguarding the colonies and preserving their ecosystem, but we also contribute to supporting the activities of independent beekeepers who respect biodiversity in their work.
This honey is offered to our customers as a symbol of our ecological commitment and its concrete results.
Our partner
Created in 2010 by a passionate beekeeper from Charente-Maritime in the west of France, Un Toit Pour Les Abeilles has been working for years to protect the domestic bee. Fully aware of the problems surrounding the collapse of bee colonies and the consequences on biodiversity, he created a network of beekeepers, now national and supported by both individuals and companies.
